My Journey
Back into the World of Inkheart
I landed in the
meadows and watched everyone working on the hills below. It made me realise how
different the world of Inkheart is
compared to the world I just returned from – how everyone, even the workers,
seem so happy; how open and free this wold is.
All my memories of Shadowland flooded back to me, mostly memories of my
family and I playing in the meadows, or teaching my children Dragon’s Breath. Then
I saw her. My heart stopped. I watched her closely as she gathered flowering
daisies. It was my wife, Roxanne! Barely containing my excitement, I stumbled
and tripped down the ragged hills right into my wife’s arms.I am so ecstatic to be home at last.
For years I searched for Inkheart and
for Mo, and now finally all of my hard work has paid off.
Roxanne and my children are thrilled
to see me, and I feel much the same way. At the moment, all I want to do is return home
and carry on with my regular life in our little lean-to with my family, working
as a fire thrower in the town square. I don’t think I can do that though.
Something inside of me is telling me that the danger is not gone; that
something or someone is going to attack. This time I will be prepared. I will
not leave anyone in my family behind. I will not the same mistake I made with
Resa, Mo and Meggie.
